A Schenectady man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to leaving the scene of a crash that killed a woman who was heading to work at a gas station.

Gary A. Lucas, 38, admitted in Saratoga County Court to striking Meredith Hamilton near the Valero gas station at the intersection of Route 50 and Brookline Road in Ballston. The crash happened on Nov. 15 just before 5:45 a.m. as Hamilton was walking to work at the gas station.

Lucas did not stop or report the crash, but kept going on his way to work. A security camera captured video of the incident.

Lucas is scheduled to be sentenced on May 8 at 1:30 p.m.
