Schenectady man charged in Halfmoon shooting
A Schenectady man is facing charges in connection with Saturday’s shooting in Halfmoon.
It happened just after 11 a.m. in the area of Route 146 and Pruyn Hill Road near the Morris Pipe & Supply Co.
Justin P. Wagner, 25, allegedly fired a rifle at a man, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Wagner left the scene in a vehicle and was caught by sheriff’s deputies on Route 146 near Moe Road.
Wagner was charged with attempted murder, criminal use of a firearm, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of an assault weapon and reckless endangerment. He was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail.
The victim, who Wagner knew, was taken by ambulance to Albany Medical Center for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Another woman was present at the scene. Investigators are attempting to determine the relationship between the parties involved.
