A Schenectady man is dead after a shooting.

Police responded to the area of Lincoln Avenue near Steuben Street at about 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of a person shot. Officers found the man, Usman Pirzada, 21, with a gunshot wound.

They also recovered several shell casings, police said.

Pirzada died at Albany Medical Center on Wednesday morning.
