Schenectady Police investigating report of girl, 11, followed by masked man in car

Schenectady Police are investigating a report of a 11-year-old girl who was approached by a vehicle with a masked man driving.

It happened at around 8:40 a.m. in the area of Winston Place and Albany Street. A man followed the girl for several blocks and made several gestures for her to get into the vehicle, police said.

She refused and continued walking to Central Park. School officials contacted police.

The vehicle has been identified. Police are not aware of any suspicious activity involving the vehicle or suspect at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Schenectady Police Department Tips Line at 518-788-6566.
