Schenectady Police are warning residents about a utility scam.

Officers say they received multiple reports of people trying to collect personal information by asking residents to maintain or buy new utility services.

Police advise that you are not required to give any personal information to these people.

Anyone who is soliciting in Schenectady must have a valid permit.
