Schenectady to promote administrator to superintendent of schools
The Schenectady City School District didn’t need to look for to find its next superintendent.
Carlos Cotto Jr. has been selected for the position. He has been with the district since 2021 as the assistant superintendent of innovation, equity and engagement. The board described him as a person who leads with purpose.
They said they got input from staff, students, and the community on this decision.
The Board of Education will formally appoint Cotto at its meeting Wednesday.
Current Superintendent Anibal Soler Jr. is leaving after three years to lead Yonkers schools.
