The scholarship through Excelsior University will support active military and veteran students who are working to earn their college degree in public service and technology.
It’s called the Chief Warrant Officer 2 Casey Nicole Frankoski Memorial Endowed Scholarship.
Casey, who was from Rensselaer, was killed in a military helicopter crash this past March over Texas. She was 28 years old.
Her aunt tells NewsChannel 13’s Subrina Dhammi that after our stories on how Excelsior honored Casey at its graduation ceremony this past July, some big donations came in to help them reach that $25,000 goal.
