Superintendent Joseph Curtis sent a message to parents Monday to inform them of the news. The staff member was not identified, according to our media partners at The Berkshire Eagle.
Curtis said the district is cooperating with authorities and has launched its own internal inquiry.
Curtis told the paper that this investigation is separate from the criminal investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office that led to Dean of Students Lavante Wiggins being placed on leave. Wiggins was arrested last week on a charge of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
