Queensbury Sen. Dan Stec said it's past time for Gov. Hochul to stop waging war on public safety and correction officers.
It costs New York state more than $100 million per month for having the National Guard in and around state prisons, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul.
This comes as thousands of correction officers are out of a job after prison strikes across the state.
Senator Dan Stec said he has a suggestion for Gov. Hochul to cover these costs.
“Do the right thing and allow these 2,000 COs to return to correctional facilities,” he said. It’s past time for Gov. Hochul to stop waging war on public safety and correction officers, Stec said.
