The Siena Men’s Basketball Team held their annual sensory-friendly autism awareness game at MVP Arena.
Organizers say a live basketball game can be very stimulating, and sometimes difficult for people with autism.
Co-host Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara – whose son has autism – says things like noise and lights can keep people with sensory sensitivities from enjoying everyday events.
The game featured artificial noise reduction and the elimination of in-game flashing videos.
