Six teens charged in related Saratoga County stabbing, robbery
Six people are facing charges in connection with a stabbing in February in Clifton Park, which police said was in retaliation for a robbery.
A 16-year-old was stabbed just after 7:30 p.m. on Feb 20 in Redfield Park. Two male “adolescent offenders,” which means they are 16 to 18 years old, and Coray A. Marrero, 19, of Queens, have been charged with first-degree gang assault and first-degree assault. Marrero also faces a second-degree robbery charge, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said.
Marrero was arrested in Queens and turned over to local authorities on April 19. He was arraigned and sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail.
The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center for surgery on possible life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police determined while investigating that the stabbing was in retaliation for a Feb. 13 robbery at the Halfmoon Walmart. That’s when a juvenile was forced into a vehicle and robbed at gunpoint.
As a result of this investigation, Tyler J. Reed, 20, of Schenectady, one adolescent male and one juvenile offender, which means they are 13 to 15 years old, were charged with robbery and kidnapping. One of the people charged was the stabbing victim.
Reed was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail.
The adolescent male offender was sent to a secure detention facility in lieu of bail and the juvenile male offender was arraigned and released to a guardian.
