Skaters got to hit the ice this Christmas Eve at the Empire State Plaza ice rink.

It’s a fun winter activity for people to get out and have a good time.

The rink is open Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 8 p.m.

It’s free to skate, but skate rentals cost $5. However, rentals are free on Saturdays thank to Hannaford.
