Soares looking into claim Zeldin campaign submitted fraudulent signatures

Albany County District Attorney David Soares says his office received a letter requesting an investigation into Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin’s campaign.

The letter was sent by Sen. Zellnor Myrie from Brooklyn. He filed a complaint last week with Soares’ office. says Zeldin’s campaign submitted over 11,000 fraudulent petition signatures in order to appear on the Independence Party line in November.

Soares’ office would only say they’ve received the letter, and they’ll look into it.
