Some Whitehall residents under boil water advisory

Residents of a small portion of the village of Whitehall remain under a boil water advisory after a series of water main breaks on Monday.
There were two water main breaks on the Route 4 east line. Customers east of 131 Poultney St. on Route 4 and Buckley Road were affected. Whitehall schools dismissed early because of the breaks. They are open Tuesday.
The breaks were fixed and service was restored at around 2 p.m., according to the Washington County Department of Public Safety.
Another leak in the same area was discovered and repaired by 9 p.m. on Monday.
Ten residences, the COT Plywood facility and Whitehall Central School are affected by the advisory. The school district is using bottled water and their water bubbler system.
