“It is a national celebration in the United States, and I think it’s important for everybody to know the positive contributions that we have done as a Hispanic community,” said teacher Ana Ramirez.

They showed off their work on Friday with a parade for the younger students.

St. Pius students start learning Spanish in pre-K.

“I’m very proud, I’m from El Salvador and teacher Paula Bott is from Colombia, and I think we have a very good system at St. Pius and our kids are very well prepared for Spanish when they go to high school,” said Ramirez.

October 15 is the final day of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

The month-long celebration recognized the generations of Hispanic-Americans who have positively influenced and enriched the United States.
