New York State Police tell us two people were arrested after an overnight police pursuit on the NYS Thruway Friday night.

The suspects, Edgard David Torres, 40, and Jorge Lucret, 46, were wanted on armed robbery charges out of Quincy, MA.

On Friday around 9:30 p.m., State Troopers say they were patrolling the Thruway in the Albany area, when they spotted a stolen vehicle driven by Torres and Lucret.

Police say earlier in the day, the suspects had fled Troopers in Rochester and Cato, NY, where they abandoned one vehicle and stole a second vehicle.

Around 8:45 p.m., they fled Troopers again who attempted to stop them on the Thruway in Montgomery County.

Once State Police spotted the suspects in the Albany area, they initiated a pursuit onto the Berkshire Spur. They were able to stop the vehicle with a tire deflation device. Both suspects ran from the vehicle into the woods, said police.

They said Torres was apprehended by Troopers and their K9 after they located him inside a home he broke into on Bunker Hill Road in the Town of Schodack.

Authorities said Torres was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries that happened when he was apprehended by the K9.

Torres will be charged with criminal possession of stolen property and burglary, said police.

State Police said Lucret was apprehended by Town of Schodack Police while driving a vehicle he stole in Stephentown, NY, after fleeing Troopers on the Berkshire Spur.

Lucret is facing two counts of criminal possession of stolen property.

State Police said both men are also wanted by police in Quincy, MA for an armed robbery at a convenience store that happened on January 29.
