State to meet with Petersburgh residents over toxic water concerns
New York state will speak with residents of Petersburgh about the ongoing investigation into PFAS contamination in their community.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the New York State Department of Health are holding a community availability session from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center. They will update the community on the ongoing efforts to investigate and address contamination from the Taconic Plastics Site.
Residents won a $23 million class action lawsuit against Taconic back in 2021, after property owners found their private wells were contaminated by toxic chemicals.
