Sticker Mule CEO cites automation, ‘economic terrorism’ in layoffs of 68 workers

The CEO of StickerMule confirmed that the company has laid off 68 workers as it seeks to automate operations.
Anthony Constantino said on Facebook that the company has installed roughly 250 robots during the last two years.
“The best way to keep manufacturing in the USA is to automate, automate, automate to do more with fewer people and offer higher wages,” he wrote.
The company has a road map to grow into the foreseeable future, he said. It has an online “Stores” platform that has helped store sellers make $100,000 profit annually.
In addition, Constantino blamed “economic terrorism” for a downturn in business.
Constantino has been in the news after the company installed a big Trump sign on its facility in Amsterdam. Constantino also launched a bid for Congress to replace U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik. However, that bid ended when Stefanik’s nomination to become UN ambassador was pulled.
“Unfortunately, there is a concerted effort by Democrats to attack our brand,” Constantino wrote.
All laid off employees were given severance, he said.
