Still no signature on deal to officially end unsanctioned prison strikes

There is a new agreement on the table to put an end to the unsanctioned prison strikes statewide, but the union representing those prison guards on strike still has not signed the deal.

There is a new agreement on the table to put an end to the unsanctioned strikes at state prisons, but the union representing prison guards on strike has not signed the deal.

After more than two and a half weeks of prison guards on the picket lines, the State Department of Corrections, DOCCS, announced a deal for those striking to return to work.

As part of the deal, DOCCS asked prison guards to return to work on Friday.

NewsChannel 13 reached out to DOCCS, who said there was 11 correctional facilities no longer on strike as of Friday afternoon.
