Stolen ‘Welcome to the Village of Lake George’ sign returns home

A landmark sign stolen in Lake George is back home.

The “Welcome to the Village of Lake George” sign was put back up on Beach Road Friday.

The 90-pound sign was stolen sometime last week.

A hiker says he found it on Prospect Mountain Hiking Trail on Saturday.

It’s still unclear who took the sign, or why.
