Storm knocks out power for thousands
More than 67,000 homes and businesses have lost power because of the winter storm hitting the region. National Grid was reporting nearly 20,000 customers without power as of 9 p.m. More than 10,000 NYSEG customers were in the dark.
The number of outages has fluctuated throughout the day. Almost 102,000 customers were without power at 9 a.m.
Most of the outages have been in Rensselaer, Berkshire and Columbia counties.
