Student test scores show mixed results
The data shows noticeable gaps in language, arts, math and science. The state plans to host a series of community meetings to discuss their findings.
New student test scores released by the state Education Department show that there are some gaps in achievement.
A total of 46% of students in grades three through eight were proficient in English language arts and 52% were proficient in math.
Around 35% of students in fifth through eighth were proficient in science.
The goal is to get those students up to the 70th percentile.
