Suiting up as a volunteer firefighter ahead of RecruitNY weekend

Volunteer fire departments are opening their doors to the public this weekend for the annual RecruitNY campaign.
The goal is to encourage more people to serve, as they face a shortage of members. Malta Ridge Volunteer Fire Company is one of those departments.
Ally Hoy was there to find out for herself what it takes to serve.
Malta Ridge Volunteer Fire Company’s open house is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 26.
