Tap-to-pay is returning to Stewart’s Shops.

The company had stopped the service across all stores a couple of months ago. They said at the time that there was a concern about an issue in the software that allows scammers to use fake card information. The affected stores that prompted the temporary suspension were in Greene, Orange and Ulster counties.

The company was waiting to get the software bug fixed.

Tap-to-pay will be phased back in in groups, according to a company spokesperson. All stores should have it back by the end of January.
