Tears flow in courtroom as Schoharie limo crash verdict is read
The families of the Schoharie limo crash victims held hands in the courtroom as the verdict was read in the trial of Nauman Hussain.
There was an audible sigh of relief as the guilty verdict for manslaughter was announced. There were also lots of tears.
After the verdict, some family members spoke to reporters for the first time since the trial began.
“It was the right decision, and I felt that way down to my toes,” said Cindy Cushing, the mother of victim Patrick Cushing.
There’s also been questions why Mavis Discount Tire hasn’t been indicted. Some family members said Wednesday justice is incomplete until Mavis is charged, too.
District Attorney Karen Heggen said she’s requested the investigative documents into Mavis.
Mavis employees said during this trial they billed Nauman Hussain for work on the limo that was never done. It remains to be seen what happens there.
