NewsChannel 13 has obtained an indictment in connection with a homicide in Albany. A 17-year-old is facing charges. The suspect’s name is not being released due to their age.

However, the grand jury handed up the indictment charging the teenager with one count of murder in the second-degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

The murder charge stated the suspect intentionally caused the death of Naheim Burbridge, by allegedly shooting him.

Albany County District Attorney David Soares is using this case as an example for why he wants to change the “Raise The Age” law.

The law centers around whether or not to charge teenagers as adults for more serious crimes.
This case is still a family court matter.
