The American Red Cross aids one after apartment fire

The American Red Cross is assisting one person after an apartment fire in Schenectady Friday morning.

The fire started at around 11:55 a.m. in the apartment located at 813 Eastern Ave, Schenectady Police said.

There are no injuries and no one was home at the time of the fire.

The fire remains under investigation.

The American Red Cross is providing financial assistance for things like food, shelter, clothing.

Volunteers also offered emotional support, health services and comfort kits containing personal care items.
