Thirty-two people still not back in Clifton Park apartments after fire
Thirty-two people displaced by a Christmas morning fire in Clifton Park still have not been able to get back into their apartments.
The fire broke out at around 2:45 a.m. at the Fox Run Apartments on Huntridge Drive. It caused minor damage to a basement utility room and smoke damage to 22 apartments, according to a spokesperson for the Solomon Organization, the property owner.
The fire was extinguished around by 5 a.m., and there is no structural damage. Electrical and plumbing tradespeople have been contacted to find replacement equipment, install it and make other necessary repairs. They hope is that residents will be able to return to their apartments as soon as possible.
Residents are being hosted at a nearby hotel through at least Friday night and have access to their belongings.
If repairs require more time than expected, the Solomon Organization will relocate the displaced residents within the community. Fox Run residents are required to have renters’ insurance, which will cover and property losses.
