Three men arraigned in Saratoga after burglary
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (WNYT) – Three men were arraigned Saturday afternoon after a burglary Saturday morning at a high-end store.
“A citizen called about a burglary in progress and actually saw two suspects leaving the store. Eventually, patrol was able to identify a vehicle from the caller,” said the Saratoga Springs Police Department.
Lola Saratoga on Broadway was burglarized around 5:30 a.m. Saturday as three men broke into the store, stealing around $35,000 worth of goods.
Marianne Barker owns a store just two doors down from Lola, and she was shocked to hear the news of the burglary.
“I mean, gosh, it’s the second time and, you know, a few months, and it just I can’t even imagine how she feels because even just if we’re shoplifted in our store, I feel personally attacked,” said Barker.
This is the third time this past year that a Lola store in the Capital Region has been burglarized, with the most recent one happening at their store at Stuyvesant Plaza. This exact store in Saratoga was last burglarized in December of 2023.
From Saturday’s incident, police caught the three men on Exit 11 on Interstate 87 after a police pursuit.
Police have identified the three men as 23-year-old Christopher L. Tyler, 22-year-old Mustafa Lewis-Hampton, and 23-year-old Jowan A. Plummer; all of them from Washington, D.C.
Those men are now being charged with five felonies and two misdemeanors. The judge is now forced to release those three men, he said, due to New York state bail reform laws.
The three men are now due back in court in Saratoga on Thursday.
