Thruway Authority considering first toll hike in 14 years

The Thruway Authority will be considering whether to raise toll rates at a meeting on Monday.

This proposal would have the base rate of the tolls to increase 5% starting January 2024 and then be raised another 5% in January 2027.

This would be the first rate hike in 14 years.

The Thruway is currently less than 5 cents per mile, compared to the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which is 14 cents per mile.
