Pieces of history were found in a time capsule under the Philip Schuyler statue in Albany on Saturday.

The statue was removed on Saturday morning, after nearly 100 years outside Albany City Hall. The time capsule was discovered hours later in the base.

The items are now in a safe place until experts can examine them all.

NewsChannel 13 was the only news station there Saturday morning, bringing you live coverage as the statue was moved.

Subrina Dhammi got exclusive access to take a closer look at the items found inside the time capsule. They include a copy of the Knickerbocker Press from May 7, 1925. There were also maps – including one from North Pearl Street in downtown Albany.

The time capsule also featured a folded-up flag, books and many, many letters.
