Tonko did not mince words, labeling federal cuts to food assistance programs “cruel and callous.”
During the discussion, Tonko heard from the panelists how President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s cuts to vital federal food assistance programs are devastating working families and worsening hunger.
He promised to take what was said back to Washington with him in order to amplify these local voices and then convince his House colleagues to rethink their positions.
