Toyota recalls 2022-2024 Tundra, Sequoia, Lexus LX 600 Models
Toyota announced on Wednesday that a safety recall is being conducted for certain 2022-2024 models.
They say the recall includes the 2022, 2023, 2024 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid, 2023, 2024 Sequoia, and 2022, 2023, 2024 Lexus LX 600 vehicles, which amounts to about 280,000 vehicles involved in the recall.
The recall is because certain parts of the transmission may not immediately disengage when the vehicle is shifted into neutral, said Toyota.
This can allow some of the engine power to continue being transferred to the wheels and can allow the vehicle to unintentionally move forward gradually on a flat surface, as well as when no brakes are applied, leading to an increased risk of a crash.
Toyota says that Toyota and Lexus dealers will update the software for the transmission at no cost, and owners of the recalled vehicles will be notified by late April.
