A trial date has now been set related to a police-involved shooting in Saratoga Springs in November.

Judge Jim Murphy set the trial for October 2 for the attempted murder case of Vito Caselnova.

He’s the Glens Falls man and off-duty Rutland County sheriff’s deputy accused of shooting a man from Utica in the early morning stand-off on Broadway.

Caselnova was also shot in the exchange of gunfire, but the Utica man accused of shooting him was charged with attempted assault, a misdemeanor. Caselnova is also charged with assault and six other counts. He maintains his innocence.
