Trial delayed for former Berkshire County teacher charged in teen’s rape

The trial has been delayed in the case of a former Berkshire County teacher accused of raping one of his students.
Both sides are working toward a possible plea deal, the Bennington Banner reported.
Peter Hirzel was a teacher at Pine Cobble School in Williamstown.
Hirzel is charged with having sexual contact with the underage teen victim on numerous occasions at his Pownal, Vermont home.
He currently faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
