Trial for Saratoga Springs man accused of killing former partner moved to September
The case of the Saratoga Springs man accused of killing his former partner and mother of his child is likely heading for trial in September.
Sebastian Mabb did not plead guilty to second-degree murder at an accept-or-reject hearing in Saratoga County Court on Tuesday, according to the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office.
Mabb allegedly killed Brianna Craig inside a home at Vanderbilt Terrace on Feb. 6. Craig was smothered with a pillow, according to law enforcement sources.
Mabb was in court last month and his attorney requested more time to consider a plea offer. An offer was submitted in writing, but prosecutors did not disclose what it was.
Judge Jim Murphy said at Tuesday’s hearing a deadline of two weeks for prosecutors to file a response to the defense team’s motion. He set a status conference for July 8.
The trial had originally been scheduled for June 29, but now is set at Sept. 9.
