NewsChannel 13 has learned that Carlos Corrales-Ramirez, arrested for murdering Jario Hernandez-Sanchez in Troy, was also wanted in connection with a stabbing in Maryland.

Assistant Troy Police Chief Steve Barker confirmed Corrales-Ramirez was arrested earlier in the year by U.S. Border Patrol in connection with the Maryland incident.

Corrales-Ramirez allegedly stabbed Hernandez-Sanchez Saturday afternoon in the area of River and Douw Streets, according to Troy Police. It’s unclear why Corrales-Ramirez was not in custody after being arrested earlier this year.

Anyone with information is asked to call Troy Police at (518) 270-4421.

Meantime, Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin released a strongly-worded statement about the arrest, blaming open border and sanctuary city policies.
