Troy man arrested for allegedly having child porn

The New York State Police arrested Andrew M. Squillari, 26, of Troy, on Wednesday for allegedly possessing child pornography.

Police say he is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.

Officials add his arrest had followed an investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Troy.

Authorities say Squillari was arrested for promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.

The investigation had stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, said police.

He was processed at the State Police of Brunswick and arraigned at Troy City Court, where he was remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash, $10,000 bond, or a $100,000 partially secured bond.
