Troy man charged in Albany homicide

A Troy man has been arrested for an Albany homicide.

Paul Smith, 21, shot three people in the area of Second and Quail streets around 1:45 a.m. last Wednesday, investigators said.

Javon Ward, 30, was struck in the back. He was pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center.

A 46-year-old woman was hit in the leg and a 13-year-old boy was grazed in the arm. Both are expected to be OK.

Smith was charged with murder, attempted murder and weapons possession. He was sent to Albany County Jail.
