Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello has chosen the city’s next comptroller.

Dylan Spring, a former chief financial manager for the Department of General Services in Albany, now has the job. He is a Columbia High School and Sage College graduate.

The filling of this job is significant because the empty position led to trouble for the newly elected mayor.

An emergency declaration was issued in relation to the administration’s inability to effectively oversee the city’s $100 million budget.
