Troy shooting now a homicide

Police in Troy are investigating a shooting that left a man dead and a woman injured.
It happened around 2 p.m. Monday afternoon in the area of 6th Avenue and 105th Street.
The Troy Police officer assigned to the Lansingburgh School District heard what he believed were gunshots a few blocks away and responded to the area to investigate.
The school resource officer arrived at the scene and discovered an adult man who had been injured from the shooting. The officer began giving medical aid to the victim and he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The man’s identity will be withheld until family members are notified.
A second victim, an adult woman, arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle. Her injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
According to the preliminary investigation, police believe the victims were targeted and the suspect and victims knew each other. There is no indication that the community is in danger.
