Police investigate drowning in Troy
Police investigate drowning in Troy. A 26-year-old man is dead.
A 26-year-old Troy man died after accidentally drowning in Poestenkill Gorge Park.
It happened around 3 p.m. Sunday, investigators said.
The man was visiting with family and friends. He was swimming in a banned area and had trouble staying afloat. Bystanders tried to rescue him, police said. He was unconscious when pulled from the water, and pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center.
Police won’t release his name until other family is notified.
