Runners got their blood pumping this morning for the 75th annual Troy Turkey Trot.
It is the 12th oldest road race in the United States.
The event director, George Regan, told us $20,000 have been raised in donations so far. That money will go to the Regional Foodbank of Northeastern New York and Joseph’s Home & Shelter.
Regan also told us that he believes there was a record turn out or this year’s event.
“It looks like we’ve had a record this year. We’re going to have approximately 6,000 participants,”he said. ”There will be 1,200 in the 10K, there will be 3,500 in the 5K, they’ll be approximately 500 in the grade school mile, and 550 in the turkey walk.”
