A young, entrepreneurial couple in Troy believes now is the perfect time to open a new restaurant. It comes as a number of other restaurants in the city have recently closed or announced they’re about to close.
Most people concede opening up now constitutes risky business – with rising food prices, difficulty finding workers and the fact that several other restaurants have shut down recently here in Troy.
That notion neither frightened nor deterred Mathieu Niamke and Raissa Doumbia from moving their restaurant from the Berkshires to downtown Troy.
The Seasoning House brings authentic West African cuisine to Troy.
Co-owners Mathieu Niamke and Raissa Doumbia have created their own spicy recipes, and they said they’re looking forward to making new friends who come in for sit down service or take out.
