Troy woman accused of promoting contraband inside Saratoga County Jail, police say

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested Malayasia E. Hudson, 30, of Troy on Thursday for passing contraband to an inmate at the Saratoga County Jail.

Authorities say she is accused of introducing the drug, known as suboxone, into the jail, by passing the contraband to a male inmate.

Hudson was arrested and charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, said the Sheriff’s Office.

Hudson was released on an appearance ticket from Milton Town Court pending further proceedings.

Officials say the charge is not a qualifying offense for purpose of setting bail, under the NYS law that went into effect in January 2020.
