The Knickerbacker Ice Arena in Troy officially reopened on Friday for the first time in six years.
As NewsChannel 13 has reported, the city of Troy shut down the arena back in 2018 for maintenance issues related to the ice making equipment, and failed piping.
Thanks to the help of $2 million in American Rescue Plan Act Funds that Rensselaer County received, the arena was repaired and reopened.
