Two arrested in case that has ties to fatal shooting of Border Patrol agent

The leader of a cult-like group that police said is tied to the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent last month has been arrested.

Jack “Ziz” LaSota, was picked up in western Maryland, the Times Union reported. Also arrested was Michelle Zajko, who is accused of providing the gun used in the fatal shooting of David “Chris” Maland on Jan. 20 on Interstate 91 in Coventry, Vermont.

Also killed in the shootout was Felix Baukholt, who was identified as a German national on an expired visa.

LaSota and Zajko were due in court for bail hearings on Tuesday.

This all part of a bizarre case involving a group known as “Zizians,” which have been liked to six deaths in three states.

The Associated Press has reported that the group has anarchist beliefs and online writings, including topics such as radical veganism and gender identity.
