Two more teens arrested in Bethlehem school swatting incidents
Police have made two more arrests in the “swatting” incidents at Bethlehem Central School District – including a 15-year-old student at the high school.
The district was hit with a series of threats called into the school last October.
Callers claimed that there would be violence at the school such as a shooting.
Bethlehem Police announced on Tuesday that they arrested a 15-year-old Bethlehem High School student and Ontario Provincial Police arrested a 14-year-old juvenile in connection with these incidents.
The Bethlehem juvenile was charged with making a terrorist threat and conspiracy. He was released on appearance ticket to the Albany County Probation Department.
The Canadian juvenile is facing charges in that country of indecent communications, public mischief, uttering threats and mischief over $5,000.
This brings the total number of arrests to three. A 14-year-old from Canada was arrested in late October and investigators believe the teen was responsible for dozens of hoaxes.
NewsChannel 13 has asked if the teens knew each other and police said they could not comment at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
