Two including 15-year-old charged following raids

A large police presence in Albany on Thursday has resulted in the arrest of two people, including a 15-year-old, on gun charges. Police searched for homes on Liebel Street and Third Street around 6 a.m. on Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation. Officers seized a loaded 9mm handgun, .32-caliber revolver and a loaded AR pistol, Albany Police said.

Two people are now facing gun charges, after a large police presence in Albany on Thursday. One of them is a 15-year-old boy.

Police searched four homes on Liebel Street and Third Street around 6 a.m. on Thursday. The Capital Region Crime Analysis Center, FBI, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives helped.

Officers seized a loaded 9mm handgun, .32-caliber revolver and a loaded AR pistol, they said.

The 15-year-old has been charged with one count of criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned Thursday afternoon in Albany County Family Court, released with an electronic monitoring device and placed on home confinement.

Jeyson Guerrero, 21, of Albany, was also arrested. He is a parolee.

Guerrero allegedly had a loaded AR pistol, when stopped in the area of Green Street and Rensselaer Street. He was charged with one count of criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned Thursday in Albany City Criminal Court and sent to Albany County Jail.
