This weekend, people from across the Capital Region are giving back to their communities as part of an effort to support local nonprofits.

The United Way 518 Day of Giving is Saturday.

The fundraiser aims to connect nonprofit organizations with new and existing donors.

As a whole, nonprofits are hoping to raise $518,000 to continue their missions in the Capital Region and beyond.
